ACCU-THUMP® - SPECIFICATIONS

All 4 models are lathe machined from solid bar stock in the United States.

When anyone first picks up an Accu-Thump® they are startled by the weight, but soon realize that properly distributed weight is key to thumping for low tires.

Dimensions of No. 1

#1 is all Brass, weighs approximately 4.5 pounds, and is about 14.25 inches long. The striking end is tapered from 1" to 2" diameter. The handle end is tapered from a 3/4" to a 1 & 3/8" diameter, attached to a solid tapered shaft handle from 3/4" to 1" diameter.

#2 is a Brass and Aluminum combination, weighs approximately 3.3 pounds, with the same overall dimensions as #1, except for the aluminum shaft handle. So, far most drivers seem to prefer this model.

Dimensions of No. 2

Note: #1 & #2 were designed not only to please the eye, but for proper weight transference.

In an attempt to lower costs the following two models are now being tested:

#3 is all Brass, weighs approximately 3.1 pounds and is about 13.75 inches long. The striking end is 2" in diameter, attached to a 3/4" diameter shaft handle, which is attached to a 1 & 3/8" diameter end.

#3-X is the same as #3, except that it has an aluminum shaft handle and weighs approximately 2.1 pounds.

Research indicates that styles #1 & #2 suit all drivers and accomplish the task of locating underinflated tires with minimal effort, without getting hands dirty. Models #3 & #3x are the least expensive units manufactured that still incorporates the patented features, however, they are not as heavy, nor as pleasing to the eye.

I've been asked why not use the less expensive metal - steel? I experimented with steel, but it sparks and will look bad when it rusts or gets soiled, and drivers won't use anything that gets their hands dirty. I don't blame them, because this dirt gets transferred to paper work or the steering wheel. Steel can be chromed or painted, but due to eventual dings, rust remains and unattractive reality. Furthermore, Hazmat carriers, such as gasoline haulers should not thump tires with anything that might cause a spark/fire.

Benefits - Flats - Alligators - Incentives
